Twenty-Somethings Making Movies
I like the idea of mumblecore. With their low budgets these directors could possibly make movies with stories more authentic than Hollywood demands. Of the mumblecore directors, Joe Swanberg is one of the best. This film is about a director and his actress girlfriend working on two different movies and being attracted to others working on those movies. If you want a Hollywood movie, this isn't for you. If you want something more character-driven, it would be worth checking out. I especially liked how the music was integrated into some very poetic scenes.
Terrific atmospheric character study
I think this is Swanberg's best work to date. Such a great performance by Kate Lyn Sheil as well as ti West.Great score too.
