Great video!
This is a great video that our Native American Youth can relate to. Would love to see a follow up video on where these kids are today.
To go, or stay, or come back
This movie tells the story of two Navaho teenagers, Thomas and Tamara both on their school track team. We not only experience their life in school and what running on the team means, but what life holds for them on the reservation...2 years until they get running water -is one of the examples of the conditions that the Navaho live with.
They are encouraged to go to college, but then what do they do? - desert the reservation and their families and heritage. We hear their voices and those of their friends, teacher, coach and relatives. Their life story is one of the normal problems of teenagers; but also compounded by their situation on the reservation and some of their family problems.
The DVD itself has surround and stereo sound, and English subtitles. It also has extras with an interview with the director/producer, questions and answers with Tamara and Thomas and deleted scenes of Thomas's track race and Tamara's cross country race.

Everyone should see this.
This DVD gives some insight into how disgraceful we have treated our Native Americans. It also shows some of the hardships that they must overcome. Finally, it is a story of determination as well as the limits encountered.
